Very sturdy, easy to assemble, nice-looking desk/bookshelf.Was very hesitant to order this with zero reviews on file. However, the seller was quick to answer all my questions and so I took a leap of faith. I am thoroughly impressed. Quality is much higher than I anticipated. Tubing is steel but painted to appear distressed - and well done I might add, very authentic looking. Wood is solid and not MDF. Appears to be pine but it too has been given a distressed appearance (only on one side of the wood panels). The entire shelf took me literally 30 minutes to put together. Came very well packaged and on time. No missing pieces. The directions were similar to Ikea but in reality you don't even need them as it is that simple to put together with no tools. You do need to secure to the wall but it is not necessary to secure to the floor. In fact, best not to secure to the floor because you can then screw/unscrew the leg caps to insure a tight fit on the floor after you secure to the wall, almost like furniture leg levelers. The pictures added here show the desk with a stool, my laptop and 24" monitor to give you perspective as well as the distressing of the shelves. Below are some notes that I think everyone will find helpful. I highly recommend this for a tight space or even a kids room - especially if you want something without much depth and close to the wall like in my case.1. Floor to bottom of desk (knee space): 27.5"2. Desk top to middle shelf (head space): 28"3. Wall to front of desk: 13.75"4. For the top shelf I recommend that you flip the piece of wood upside down so that the distressing is pointing downward. This is side you will see because of the height of the top shelf so it makes since to flip it to give the entire unit a consistent look.5. Put together and hand tighten well all the pipe fittings before attaching the shelves. This will insure that all the pieces are of equal length and will result in level desk/shelves.OVERALL:Awesome desk, looks great, super solid construction, easy to build, pretty good amount of storage. 10/10 recommend.PROS:- Super easy to put together, took less than a half-hour by myself, including mounting it on the wall (I'd say I'm about average "handiness"-- comfortable with basic handheld tools, but by no means an expert). It would definitely be easier to mount with a second person, but very doable solo, just might need something to prop it up against the wall while you sink the first couple screws.- Very sturdy so far. No wobble when you use it, which is always nice in a desk. I don't have a ton of weight on it yet, but a few books, a couple plants on the top shelf, and my laptop, and it seems rock-solid (which makes sense, since these are some heavy-duty pipes and solid wood).- Looks great--exactly as pictured. I like the stain on the wood, and there's enough shelf space to customize with whatever you want to put on it.- Spacious, yet compact-- I got the 16" and it's a decent amount of work space, given that it's such a space-saver in my room. The "desk" portion fits: my laptop (11" macbook air, so pretty small), a (smallish) day-planner, a desk lamp, and mug of coffee pretty comfortably. The top shelves easily fit some medium-sized potted plants, along with a couple dozen books, a couple candles, etc.CONS:- I'm really nit-picking here, but I guess if I HAD TO find a con...you can tell the "distressing" on the pipes is artificially done, if you really look closely. But honestly, it still looks great, and I don't know how you could really get "genuinely distressed" steel pipes without just buying some pipes and throwing them around a bit/letting them rust? Seems like this is a better alternative to that...Unless you're obsessive about stuff like this, I would not let this deter me from buying this desk.Looks good and is right sizeMy son has to go back to school online because of Covid-19. We needed a desk in a pinch but we wanted to put it in a room where I was going to be so I could assist him if needed. My office isn't huge so this was PERFECT. I can easily assist him while maintaining my work space and not feeling crowded at all. It even allows me to STORE some things on the shelves above which a normal desk wouldn't do. It was pretty easy to assemble and very sturdy. I have no fear of my things falling off. I will say, I do recommend maybe someone helping you build it, just as a second set of hands to hold the desk in place--just keeps life simple. Someone else had posted that it wasn't made out of wood, but it is. I don't doubt they might've gotten a bad piece of wood, maybe a knot close to the corner that made it break off easily, but nonetheless, it is wood--Hence the description "solid wood" 10/10 would buy again. We ordered this desk/shelf combo in order to help mask/distract from our HVAC intake vent, and we also needed a small, versatile work/eat station. This desk was perfect! We sort of had to bastardize the design, because we needed it to be taller than the original design, so we assembled the pipes in a different order and made this a slightly taller than-counter height desk. We gave up one bookshelf for this re-purpose, but I'm ok with it. It looks great. It's solid, REAL wood and solid metal pipes! We didn't want to make holes in the floors, either, so we stuck rubber grip footies on bottom and just took a bracket to mount to the underside of the desktop and secured it to a beam in the wall. Totally worked! Very happy with this little desk! Very worth the money! Looks great for the "industrial farm house" style home.We bought this for our 20 year old college student and I am so glad I did. It's sturdy (we were able to anchor it to studs). It's super easy to put together and that is real pipe! This design is a huge space saver. Our son has little to no room in his new share rental and this desk is perfect.I went for the 16"Very impressed!!Great QualitySturdyEasy to assembleVersatileCan customize to your space... I changed height of shelves by changing around the bars. Also shortened the top bar due to the low ceilings in were I placed it.Love the look, super happy with it. Using it as a Work station in my sons room ?I really like the look of this desk- it fits my space perfectly. However, the main desk does not sit perfectly on the pipes. Once I attached it to the wall it was better but there is still a space between the bottom of the desk and the front pipes. Also, the stain used on the desk has come off and dyed my phone case and the cloth I used to clean the desk. Be aware of this possibility. I added a keyboard tray to the bottom of the desk as there is not a lot of space on the desk. The hanging keyboard tray was a perfect addition.Great desk!! Super easy to assemble took 30 mins total! It’s also great quality for the price. We followed another reviewers advice to flip the top piece upside down so the weathered part shows and it looks great.I saw a lot of mixed reviews for this and was weary when I ordered it. But I knew that if I didn’t like it, it would be super easy for me to return it. I normally don’t post reviews but I thought it would be helpful. This desk is a dream. I was very tight on space and needed something very particular. It looks gorgeous and the quality is a lot better than expected. I don’t love the colour of the wood and might paint it white, but the wood is super straight and solid. Ergonomically the height of the desk part is great, I was worried it was too low. If you can see the feet, you can actually add pieces to raise it. I put felt padding underneath and didn’t nail it to the floor. It is nailed to the wall . Everything fit together perfectly, I’m very happy with this purchase!Very happy with this purchase! Beautiful, high quality. We took advice from another comment and flipped the wood upside down because we didn’t love the look of the distressed side. We put hemp oil on the top and it really brought out the natural colour of the wood ☺️. The way we nailed it into the wall, the top right pipe is a little crooked so I would just double check it is straight before doing it next time.
